How fastribe deploys OKR framework quickly
OKR and you
You have heard of OKR framework and now you are behind your HR team to implement it. You wonder why it is taking so long. Then one day HR manager asks you to define strategic objectives for the organisation.
And a year goes by.
fastribe automates OKR implementation
Our first deployment of OKR software failed, not for any lacking feature in the software or any bug, but guess what? Organisation failed to write down the strategic objectives and goals. We picked our lesson.
Conceptually OKR is a simple framework, most of it heavily borrows from earlier so many frameworks that HR teams have been talking about. Even software is not the limiting factor, though software makes it easy to implement. The real limiting factor is “thinking”. Yes, if you won’t write objectives, then you aren’t leading. If your managers won’t help in goal setting, then they aren’t managing. And that we felt was the missing piece.
The Surge
Hence came Surge, the performance acceleration program that we set up within our client organisations that runs on top of fastribe software. Surge is essentially an organisation’s internal performance accelerator. It’s job is to set in motion a series of timed artefacts that will force leaders to think, engage, coach and review. With the Surge routines operating, you get the needed input for making OKR implementation work. Then fastribe software does the rest.
We follows a three step process of Surge + OKR implementation
Community first: No tool would work unless there’s a team of believers inside, those who would learn and commit to focus on outcome. We handle this first. So instead of selling the software to CEO, we ask for a session with managers, to understand if they are keen to accelerate performance of their team members. This would require coaching efforts from them, so are they ready to play that role. We would train anyways. We move forward only if this step is successful. We also have a fastriber’s oath for managers to commit to.
Coaching next: This is where we undertake coaching of all team members on the acceleration intent, OKR framework, fastribe software and their role in making acceleration happen. This step ensures that every team member is aware, trained and in the game.
Software sustains: Once first two steps are successfully achieved, we move into rolling out software. It’s a cloud based software that takes a minute to run, so not much in that really, specially once managers and team members have put their commitment and have been trained.
Nothing begins perfect
To begin is itself a major milestone. To make it simpler to start, fastribe has some default settings already in place. Based on the industry you select, departments, CEOs generic strategic objectives, KRs (Key results) for roles are pre-set, that you can edit or just accept as is and start. As you run, iterations will happen and before you know you’d be well on your way.
fastribe performance coaches are here to help
Sometimes organisations have internally what it takes. In our experience, a trained performance coach though does make the process smooth. We continuously train and certify fastribe performance coaches who work with our clients to drive implementation. From training managers, training team members to addressing their issues on an ongoing basis, coaches do make a difference.
So if accelerating performance is on your mind, let’s begin.
